Mini Island in Chao Phraya

Ko Kret is a tiny man made island in the middle of Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. It is located north of Bangkok, around 20km away.

There is mini weekend morning market for the local tourists. I rented a bicycle to cycle around the tiny island on the walkway above the ground.

It was an excursion to have a glimpse of how the locals live on a tiny island in the middle of the grand river. It felt familiar to see houses built on stilt on a fishing village. There are temples and pottery factory in the island too. Cycling along the narrow lanes in the island was relaxing as there were greeneries around.

To reach the island, we took a ferry in the Chao Phraya river, followed by a bus ride before another boat ride across the river. The journey from downtown Bangkok took around 1.5-2 hours.
