Koh Rong Samleom is the tinier island in South Cambodia off the coast of Sihanoukville city, being less popular than the more famous and bigger island of Koh Rong. The boat ride took about 1 hour. It was a crowded ride from Sihanoukville jetty as there were many tourists from during the Lunar New Year break.

Upon reaching the pier, I was greeted by tropical seaside view along the beaches in Saracen Bay. The island is tiny whereby the only mode of moving around is by walking on the sandy soil. The dorm I stayed was very basic but the view was great. There was a hammock where I could just lie and relax with sea breeze. At the end of the beach, there is a walkway that serves as another pier.

The adventure began when I trekked along the beaches and some bushes to the other part of the island called Lazy Beach, where it was a heaven with secluded beach. Sitting under the shady trees with the sound of of seawaves rushing to the beaches and retrieving, plus the airy breeze with spacious scenery across, was a simple peaceful experience. At night, the beach party began, where many young western backpackers hang around for drinks, dance and chat.
